Music Therapy In Care Homes & Day Centres
We offer music therapy sessions in residential care and community settings around Gloucestershire. These are delivered by qualified, HCPC-registered music therapists and are tailored to the needs of the individuals taking part.
Music therapy is an established clinical intervention that encourages self-expression and interaction, and can bring improvements in wellbeing, mood, and communication.
These benefits can in turn lead to a reduction in agitation, restlessness and anxiety for the person with dementia. Sharing music together also alleviates feelings of loneliness and can reduce social isolation.
Music therapy sessions can be delivered individually or in small groups.

Mindsong has been wonderful for our residents as it enables even those with advanced dementia to experience the magic of music and song. We have found that residents who cannot talk in full sentences are able to recite entire songs from their childhood, lightening their mood in the process.
